Queensland lights up purple and green for mental health
Landmarks across Queensland will help shine a spotlight on mental health as part of Queensland Mental Health Week.
To help raise awareness local councils, stadiums and organisations will be lighting up landmarks in purple and green – the official colours of Queensland Mental Health Week.
Here are some of the places set to light up:
10 OCTOBER – Light Up Brisbane – The Story Bridge, Reddacliffe Place Sculptures, Breakfast Creek Bridge, Wickham Terrace Wall, Tropical Dome, Sandgate Town Hall, and Brisbane City Hall (including King George Square) will light up purple and green.
10 OCTOBER – Light Up Toowoomba – The City Hall Annex and the Victoria Street Bridge will be lit up purple and green.
10 OCTOBER – Light Up Suncorp Stadium – Suncorp Stadium will shine a spotlight on the importance of positive mental health and wellbeing by lighting up green.
10 OCTOBER – Light Up Queensland Country Bank Stadium – Queensland Country Bank Stadium will shine a spotlight on the importance of positive mental health and wellbeing by lighting up purple on October 10.
6-12 OCTOBER – Light Up Bundaberg – Bundaberg’s Fig Tree Lights will be lit up purple and green for Queensland Mental Health Week.
7-10 OCTOBER – Light Up Ipswich – The Facade on 1 Nicholas Street will be lit up purple and green for World Mental Health Day.
7-13 OCTOBER – Light Up Rockhampton – Rockhampton’s Heritage Façade Lighting will be lit up purple and green.
7-14 OCTOBER – Light Up BCEC – Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre’s building exterior will light up green in support of Queensland Mental Health Week.
7-15 OCTOBER – Light Up Livingstone Shire – The Singing Ship, Yeppoon Amphitheatre, Keppel Sands foreshore and Wreck Point lookout will light up purple and green.
7-15 OCTOBER – Light Up Southern Downs – The Warwick Town Hall, the SDRC Stanthorpe Administration Centre and Weeroona Park in Stanthorpe will all be lit up in purple.
7-15 OCTOBER – Light Up Gladstone – The Gladstone Regional Council chambers will be lighting up purple and green.
7-15 OCTOBER – Light Up Moreton Bay – The Caboolture Administration Building, Redcliffe Administration Building, and Humpybong Fountain will be lit up purple and green.
7-15 OCTOBER – Light Up Roma – The variable street lighting in McDowall Street, Roma will be lit up purple.
8-13 OCTOBER – Light Up Townsville – The Townsville Sign, Victoria Bridge, Wharton Reef Lighthouse, George Roberts Bridge, Old Magistrates Court House, Central Park Boardwalk, Little Fletcher Bridge will be lit up purple and green.
10-12 OCTOBER – Light Up Logan – Logan’s iconic water towers will light up in purple and green.
