Creating safe spaces

We have engaged a First Nations artist to create an Indigenous mural at our Wacol Animal Care Campus. This mural will revitalize a communal courtyard, making the space more inviting while celebrating Indigenous culture and paying homage to our First Nations staff and volunteers. The mural will incorporate animals, reflecting our wildlife and domestic animal care work and the benefits of animal therapy. Additionally, the artist will create a series of Indigenous artworks on canvases for our regional facilities, ensuring inclusivity for staff and volunteers across the state. These artworks will be displayed in communal areas for all to enjoy. Below is an example of previous artwork from the artist that was commissioned for NAIDOC Week 2024.
