Join the Mindful Warriors Retreat for a day to connect with nature, reduce stress and cultivate inner peace in the beautiful Central Plaza at James Cook University, Townsville. Guided by a qualified mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) teacher, this retreat will offer you a unique opportunity to practice mindfulness meditation away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Mindfulness meditation is a practice that encourages being fully present in the moment, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, without being overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. It’s about observing our thoughts and feelings without judgement. For veterans and community members alike, this can be a powerful tool to enhance emotional regulation, resilience, and overall well-being.
The retreat will cover body scan, movement meditation, attention focus meditation, sit meditation, walking meditation, and mindful BBQ and eating meditation.
